I really enjoyed my experience at the Civil Rights Museum. I was surprised to know that Savannah’s NAACP was a big contributor to the civil rights movement. The tour guide explained the history of the movement with precision.
Feb 16, 2026 · Google ReviewThis museum is very impressive in telling the story of the Civil Rights era in Savannah. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable in answering the questions that were asked. Only setback for me was, there was not enough time to read about the many exhibits that were on display.
Aug 2, 2026 · Google ReviewThis is the place to hidden gem that is a PLETHORA of knowledge about Savannah. We are so happy to have taken the tour. If, you like history. Please, please stop by the place. I highly recommend it!
Mar 10, 2026 · Google ReviewThere are no photography or filming allowed in the establishment. All of the exhibits takes time to read through. I love the handouts that you can take home. I would love it if one of the handouts were a quiz with the questions they asked during that time of redlining and grandfather clauses. I would definitely visit again. I love their collection of books in the gift shop. I would buy them all to add to my library. I need them to offer more books especially the banned ones. I also wish they had audio archived interviews in their exhibits so that people could listen separately on their own time while they're there. Add a library as well. I'd come back a thousand times over to know the history of black folks in Savannah.
Jun 29, 2026 · Google ReviewI really enjoyed my tour at this museum. Both of the guides were very informative and very knowledgeable about the information they shared. I love the pictures and the writing about all of the African American leaders, it is truly a place to visit if you are in Savannah, GA. Thank you so...much for a great tour & sharing history that we should never forget! ❤️
