This place is truly beautiful and in a great location in Savannah. I loved coming and going as I pleased and using the gate they have on street level to access my room. Staff are all very friendly, except for the man they have serving breakfast; his customer service skills were a little lacking. Basically, he was very rigid and didn’t seem super knowledgeable when asked questions about the menu, and, in general, wasn’t the most personable. Additionally, the breakfast could’ve been better. I was expecting more options and fresh fruit, but really there was one entree option and a couple sides every day. While the entree was often delicious, the sides were often dry. Lastly, the room was kept very clean every day and well-stocked. However, the bed and pillows were not the most comfortable for me. The mattress was a little on the hard side and seemed to kind of dip at the top where you lay your head, which, for someone who has chronic neck and shoulder pain, is not a great setup. The pillows also could’ve been more supportive. Overall, I still found the Eliza Thompson house to be peaceful.
Jun 14, 2026 · Google ReviewGreat location! We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Only moved our car once the whole week of our stay and that was for street cleaning. What a great peaceful atmosphere with informative staff. Loved the four poster bed and quiet room. We so enjoyed the wine tasting and deserts every night. We will definitely stay here again for our next trip to Savannah.
May 25, 2026 · Google ReviewOur son lives in Savannah and my wife, and we always stay at an Airbnb or Bed and Breakfast when we come two or three times a year for the last two years. This was our first stay at Eliza Thompson House and we stayed 4 nights. The communication was excellent before and during our stay. The front desk staff are knowledgeable about the area, professional and friendly. Joshua checked us in and explained parking, breakfast, wine and d'oeuvres and dessert time every night. We met Nell the next morning and had a good conversation with her. The buffet breakfast was just what we needed with an option of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, grits and pancakes with plenty of coffee for refills. We met some really nice people at the wine social every evening from 5:00-6:30. Parking was on the street which we were used to and never had to park more than a block away. Our room was just one flight of stairs up, very spacious and comfortable. We were able to walk to Forsyth Park every morning for 2-3 laps around for our exercise. We were then able to walk the 3-4 blocks to Broughton Street for lunch and going through shops. We were in walking distance to St. John's Basilica but took our vehicle since we had a lunch reservation right after Mass. We will stay at the Eliza Thompson house next time we are in Savannah visiting our son.
Mar 10, 2026 · Google ReviewThe location of the Eliza Thompson House is perfect for your visit to Savannah! It is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to any attraction you wish to see. I especially enjoyed the breakfast in the courtyard and visiting with other guests during happy hour in the parlor. The staff is so helpful and friendly. I definitely will return to Savannah and book this lovely B & B again! Ronda Lincoln NE
Jun 5, 2026 · Google ReviewVery friendly and welcoming staff. From the minute I got there to the time I left, the staff was friendly and inviting. They were always ready to give you a helpful suggestion or recommendation if asked or help book a tour. The location was ideal. It was in a quiet neighborhood and central location to everything. The room was nice. When you wanted a bottle of water or a soda, diet or sparkling water, all you had to do was to go to the small fridge in the parlor and grab one. There was even water by the front door to grab on your way out. Every afternoon at 5 there was a charcuterie board and wine. At 8 pm some kind of sweet treat. Breakfast was in the private courtyard starting at 8 AM. If you are looking for a place to stay in Savannah that is nice, quiet and friendly, The Eliza Thompson House is a great place to stay.
