An absolutely incredible place to visit! Whether you’re a history enthusiast, an aviation fan, or just looking for something meaningful to do near Savannah, this museum is a must-see. The exhibits are beautifully designed, the restored aircraft are impressive, and the stories of the brave men and women of the Eighth Air Force are presented with great care and respect. The interactive displays and short films make the experience even more engaging, and the memorial chapel is peaceful and moving. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about preserving history. Plan to spend a few hours here you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made during World War II. Highly recommended for visitors of all ages!
Jul 23, 2026 · Google ReviewTotally amazed at this museum! I was there when I was in high school over 12 years ago. Coming back as a Naval Aviator today and someone who has worked at the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum (and have volunteered at many other aviation museums over the years), I was totally blown away at how well curated and well ran this museum is. I was impressed and learned so much from every display, experience, and diorama. My husband and I just finished the show Masters of the Air so it was neat to come across the displays of Major Cleven, Major Egan, and Lt. Colonel Rosenthal. Special shout out to our tour guide Al Pela, he was very knowledgeable, well spoken, and I especially loved the personal story of his father serving as a side & rear gunner in the B-17!
Aug 28, 2026 · Google ReviewIf I could give this museum more than 5 star, I would. We pass by here several times a year going up and down I-95 and finally had time to stop. The museum is much larger than it looks from the highway. There are several full size planes, including a B-17 bomber. You get to see several movies about the 8th Air Force, and there are so many other exhibits both inside and outside. We planned on stopping for a half hour or so, but wound up staying a full 2 hours and didn’t see everything. Anyone who is interested in WWII events needs to visit. We enjoyed the vast memorial gardens and a chapel with stained glass windows honoring fallen comrades. The docents are all knowledgeable and helpful.
Jun 27, 2026 · Google ReviewIt was honestly so fun! The tour guide was very friendly and taught us some interesting facts about certain things in the museum. The museum was way bigger than I had originally thought so I didn't get to see the fly girl part of the museum but that just means another reason to come back! The bathrooms were super clean and all the staff were so friendly and accommodating!
Apr 9, 2026 · Google ReviewIt was an amazing experience! I booked a hotel near the museum so I could take my husband! He is a huge history buff and absolutely loves airplanes. There was an amazing tour included in the price of your ticket which I thought made the experience even better! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Tickets were $13 each.
