We loved exploring this fort. So much history. I had taken more photos, but it would only allow me so many, but it sits on the Beautiful Savannah River and when you are up on the second level You will have a great view and see some dolphins playing and feeding in the river. Depending on how long you would want to visit. I would suggest taking in the views after learning the history.
2 months ago · Google ReviewWe decided to visit it in the morning yesterday when snow was expected around 4pm. It worked out well. We are the first ones to arrive and there weren’t many visitors at all . It’s the best location to watch the giant container ship sailing on the water. We spotted the eagles as well. We stayed till 12:00pm for the firing . Shoutout to Harrison, dressed in solider outfit. He is very knowledgeable , professional and passionate about the history. Thanks to him, our visit is much more enjoyable!
3 months ago · Google ReviewStopped by this location when we were working in Savanah. The history of this place was super cool. The re-enactments were on point and the staff was super knowledgeable. One of my favorite parts of the tour were all the historic artifacts. A must go if you are the area.
3 months ago · Google ReviewMy wife and I love seeing local history when we go on vacation, and Old Fort Jackson was awesome! The young lady at the front desk was kind and welcoming. Tommy, dressed in full authentic Georgia military uniform, was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and passionate. We toured the fort in its entirety and watched Tommy demonstrate the firing of a 12-pound howitzer cannon! Skip the overpriced and underwhelming ghost tours in Savannah and make sure to get to Old Fort Jackson during the day instead. Will definitely be back the next time we are in Savannah.
4 months ago · Google ReviewReally cool area! We arrived minutes before they fired the cannon, then a cargo ship was coming in just afterwards. Super cool experience!
