This place is a gem in between downtown Savannah and Tybee Island! Not only are the trails well maintained but the rescue/rehab animals all seem happy with nice enclosures. The kids had a blast getting to navigate with their maps and it was a beautiful hike. We went when it was raining so we knew to pack our ponchos but if you get there and it looks like it might rain they sell ponchos in the gift shop. The cost for entry is super affordable even with 5 kids and there's plenty of places for you to picnic (they don't sell food but you are welcome to bring coolers and beverages as long as you clean up after yourself). There's even a self-guided tour QR code as you head out to the trails.
Jun 22, 2026 · Google ReviewExcellent local excursion for families. Low priced admission with military discounts. Large variety of animals and plenty of space to explore at your own speed. Walking path (Approx 2 miles) is stroller friendly. Plenty of parking.
Feb 24, 2026 · Google ReviewThis is such a fun place to visit. The trails to the exhibits are well maintained and are very fun to walk on (its a nice escape from the city). Unfortunately when I went the gator exhibit was closed but that just gives me an excuse to come back another time. There are plenty of animals to see here, I spent about 1.5 hours walking around and seeing everything. I would absolutely advise putting on bug spray or something though the mosquitos were going absolutely crazy. It's also very photogenic so if you're into that there are some nice pictures to be taken here.
Jun 21, 2026 · Google ReviewI went on a whim and had an absolute blast! The woman working the gift shop was very sweet considering I came back in soaking wet looking for a raincoat! Despite it downpouring it was such an amazing and fun experience! Highly recommend!
Aug 12, 2026 · Google ReviewThis is a must visit in Savannah if you enjoy walking in nature and animals. It is accessible for strollers. For the most part, the paths are not paved. My kids love visiting and I always enjoy bringing guests.
