Pros: Check in and check went smoothly. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff always willing to help, courteous and friendly. Valet attendants courteous and friendly. Bartender in the rooftop bar made great drinks. Cons: Dog walk and park across the street infested with mosquitos and gnats, impossible to walk there at anytime. It is a short distance to downtown, but the walk is scenic. House car is somewhat difficult to reserve. It did work out for us but it is tricky. Luckily the female driver at night made it possible. When checking out we were told that they only have one luggage cart, so I carried everything to my car. Menu in the restaurants are very limited. Valet parking is quite expensive at $53.00 a night.
Jul 1, 2026 · Google ReviewI’ve stayed at Thompson Savannah several times for work, and it has consistently been one of my favorite hotels. Despite being close to everything Savannah has to offer, the hotel has a peaceful, quiet atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The rooms are comfortable, beautifully designed, and always impeccably maintained. The staff is consistently friendly, professional, and provides excellent service, making every stay seamless. Whether you’re visiting for business or a weekend getaway, Thompson Savannah is an outstanding choice. I always look forward to staying here and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah.
Jul 3, 2026 · Google ReviewGreat hotel. Not exactly a Savannah vibe, much more of a modern look to it, but beautiful nonetheless. It’s only a mile walk to the center of downtown, so it’s quiet at night while still being close enough to walk wherever you need to go. The rooms were clean and quite large. We brought out 90 lb dog with no issues or additional charges! The staff were friendly and quite helpful. Overall a great stay and look forward to my next stay.
May 12, 2026 · Google ReviewEverything at the Thompson is top notched! We love staying there. From the time you arrive until the time you depart, service is impeccable. We enjoyed dinner at the Fleeting restaurant our first night. Our meal was delicious. The second night, the hotel concierge made reservations for us at a nearby restaurant and we enjoyed the food there as well. Our corner view room was perfect for us. We were able to enjoy the ships coming and going from the port. The hotel offers a driving service, based solely on tips, to areas within a 3 mile radius. We left with the best memories and look forward to returning very soon. It’s only Thompson for us when we travel to Savannah.
May 14, 2026 · Google ReviewMyself, my wife, our 2 yr old and our 3 month old had a great stay at Thompson Savannah! I wanted to call out the level of service we experienced. We ran into a couple very minor issues early on, but the team handled everything quickly and professionally—they made it right without hesitation, which goes a long way. The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms are tastefully designed—modern, comfortable, and very well thought out. The lobby bar has a great happy hour and is a perfect spot to unwind. The rooftop is a standout—easily one of the best views of the city in my opinion. Between that and the two excellent restaurants/bars on site, you really don’t have to leave the property to have a great time. The only con (but keep in mind there is a free car service) is that the hotel isn’t right in the heart of downtown—it’s just outside of it. That said, it’s a quick and easy walk to everything (about 15 minutes to the far end), and it sits along a beautiful riverfront walkway. Parking options are convenient with valet, metered street parking, or a nearby garage. Also very dog-friendly, which is a big plus. Overall, the combination of great design, strong food and drink options, and top-notch service made this a stay worth recommending. We’d definitely come back.
