The Thompson Savannah is a beautiful hotel. It feels very new, modern, and extremely well maintained, and the rooms are comfortable, stylish, and very pleasant. Overall, the property itself definitely lives up to what you would expect from a hotel of this level. Unfortunately, the service does not match the standard of the hotel. There are several areas where it could be significantly improved, and throughout our stay we never really felt that the level of attention and hospitality was consistent with the experience the hotel is trying to offer. It’s a shame, because the hotel has everything it needs to be an outstanding property. With a stronger focus on service, attention to detail, and making guests feel genuinely valued, the overall experience could be so much better.
a month ago · Google ReviewPros: Check in and check went smoothly. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff always willing to help, courteous and friendly. Valet attendants courteous and friendly. Bartender in the rooftop bar made great drinks. Cons: Dog walk and park across the street infested with mosquitos and gnats, impossible to walk there at anytime. It is a short distance to downtown, but the walk is scenic. House car is somewhat difficult to reserve. It did work out for us but it is tricky. Luckily the female driver at night made it possible. When checking out we were told that they only have one luggage cart, so I carried everything to my car. Menu in the restaurants are very limited. Valet parking is quite expensive at $53.00 a night.
3 months ago · Google ReviewHad an excellent stay at the Thompson in Savannah. The rooms were very nice, and comfortable, but the star of this hotel is the pool. The 2nd story pool has plenty of deck space, and bar service (most days) which was excellent. The pool deck is shaded in the morning, perfect for those of us who like to do some poolside work on the laptop, but then plenty of sun in the afternoon. Plenty of space and seating on the deck, cabanas you can reserve, and bathrooms. Really wonderful spot. We had excellent service, and Bar Julian on the rooftop was quite nice and had very friendly bartenders. We will be back here on future trips to Savannah, for sure.
2 months ago · Google ReviewAn unforgettable stay at Thompson Savannah! During our family road trip across the United States, we stayed at several wonderful hotels, but Thompson Savannah was truly one of the highlights of our journey. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beautiful design, elegant atmosphere, and attention to detail throughout the hotel. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed, extremely comfortable, and offered a wonderful view of the Savannah River. The floor-to-ceiling windows and stylish design made the room feel truly special. The location is fantastic. Being right along the Savannah River, with easy access to River Street and the Historic District, made it a wonderful place to explore Savannah while still giving us a peaceful and relaxing place to return to. We especially enjoyed the pool area and the beautiful rooftop atmosphere. The entire property has a wonderful sense of style, but at the same time it feels warm, welcoming, and comfortable. The staff were excellent — friendly, professional, attentive, and always happy to help. We truly felt that every detail had been thoughtfully taken care of. Thompson Savannah was more than just a place to stay during our road trip — it became part of the experience. Savannah itself was one of the most beautiful and memorable stops on our journey, and staying at Thompson made our visit even more special. We absolutely loved our stay and would happily return in the future. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a beautiful, elegant, and memorable stay in Savannah! Thank you to the entire Thompson Savannah team for helping make our American adventure so unforgettable! ❤️🇺🇸
a month ago · Google ReviewOur stay at the Thompson Savannah was exceptional from beginning to end. Every staff member we encountered was genuinely friendly, and incredibly professional. The level of service was truly outstanding. One of the highlights for us was the beautiful design of the hotel. Every detail, from the lobby to the guest rooms, has been thoughtfully designed and feels both elegant and unique. The hotel was also spotless and most importantly for us, incredibly quiet. We are very light sleepers, so having such a peaceful room meant we had an excellent night’s sleep. Something we truly appreciate when traveling. We also enjoyed the morning croissants and coffee that were included with our stay (or offered as part of the rate) in the Coffee shop by the Hotel. Be sure to spend some time at the pool. While it’s not very deep, it’s a wonderful place to relax. And the absolute must-do is visiting the rooftop bar around sunset. It gets busy, so finding an outdoor seat before sunset can be a challenge, but after the sun goes down, we were able to get a table outside. The views and atmosphere were absolutely worth it. This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Thank you!
