KristenI really enjoyed visiting Crawford Square during my recent visit to Savannah, Georgia! It has a calm, serene atmosphere and is beautifully maintained, with lovely greenery and timeless historic character. StevePottsThe only square that is a recreational park. Designed in 1841, it was named in honor of William Harris Crawford, a previous state governor and senator. A basketball court was added as a prize for winning a basketball tournament against the other squares in 1946. Part of the cistern system built in the 1830's & 1840's for fire fighting is still evident in the middle.
