I was excited to eat here for the first time in 50 years. We used to visit an aunt that lived in Savannah and this was one of her favorite places for seafood. Only a short walk from our hotel, we were immediately seated. Reservations are probably a good idea, as the waiting area was packed when we left. We placed our drink orders and decided on splitting a bowl of She Crab Soup and the Seafood Trio Platter. The soup arrived barely warm. Our server, who was very kind, never checked with us until we were done with our entree. I asked her to remove the soup from our bill and she accommodated my request. For $48, we had 5 grossly over-cooked shrimp, 2 perfectly cooked scallops, and a crab patty that was 80% breading. I had a beautiful Seafood Omelet this morning at 2 Cracked Eggs that was packed with actual crabmeat and shrimp that popped, priced @ $24. This was a very disappointing meal, especially at that high price point. Those of you who follow me know that it's rare for me to give a less than stellar review for a restaurant. Stuff happens, new cooks, short staffed, etc. I'm a business owner, I get it. But a long term establishment like The Pirates House should be ashamed to serve food like this, especially during early seating.
Jul 16, 2026 · Google ReviewFood was tasty! The chicken that they are famous for was very tasty, good, and a large portion! My friends absolutely loved it! However, for me; it was a bit too sweet, but that’s exactly what you want it to be for what it’s advertised as. Their sweet potatoes were very cinnamon and sweet, but it was very fitting with the chicken. Their salads though were wonderful! Even the side salad offered a good portion size and was super tasty! Mt favorite part here, however was the crab dip!! There’s nothing special about it, but it was definitely good. I personally did not like the marmalade, but it’s a unique offering with the bread. It’s also worth noting this was some of the fastest service we have received in Savannah, food came out super timely. Definitely a place that is worth appreciating between the history and unique menu. Something for everyone!
Jun 29, 2026 · Google ReviewOne of the best meals of our trip! The cocktails were very good as were the crab hush puppies. I got the maple pecan fried chicken which was TO DIE FOR!! Crispy and flavorful with the maple drizzle. The potato encrusted halibut, which my boyfriend got, was also delicious!! We were stuffed so we had no room for dessert but they had a lot of great options. Our server was phenomenal- he was very attentive and pleasant to talk to- super friendly. Bathrooms were clean and they have free parking which is a huge plus in this area!! Highly recommend d eating here!!!
Jun 5, 2026 · Google ReviewExcellent experience. Came on a Friday afternoon at 12:30pm and was seated by 1 sans reservation (but I’d recommend making one). My husband enjoyed the salmon and my toddler munched on the kids seared chicken + some Mac and cheese from my buffet plate. I love that dessert is included with the buffet (only $20 for all you can eat). From the Omggg biscuits to the mouth watering peach cobbler, everything was delicious. Would definitely come here again. I totally understand the accolades and still can’t believe we were seated quickly, served attentively, AND had easy parking, all at lunch time on a holiday. Amazing!
Jul 4, 2026 · Google ReviewWe had a reservation for 6:15, but we were allowed to sit down early. We ordered gator bites as an appetizer, but we never got them. Was disappointed about that. Our food came out very quickly. Catfish, baby back ribs, shrimp and grits were all delicious. The side grits with the catfish were very bland. Our waiter took great care of us and never let our drinks run dry. We enjoyed the gift shop at the top of the restaurant. We can check it off the bucket list but this would not be a “we have to go back” place for us.
