The Gryphon was one of the highlights of our trip to Savannah! We gathered for a 1:00 p.m. tea service with friends, and it was the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful, kind, humble, and a student at SCAD. She provided exceptional service and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. One of the best parts of the experience was that each of us got to choose our own teapot with a unique infused tea. The tea service was beautifully presented and paired with an assortment of delicious tea sandwiches, fresh fruit, and pastries. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and made for a truly memorable experience. I also have a nut allergy, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate me. They were incredibly attentive, double-checking ingredients and ensuring my food was safe. They even brought me extra servings of the items that were nut-free, which was such a thoughtful touch and greatly appreciated. Between the beautiful atmosphere, outstanding service, delicious food, and attention to dietary needs, The Gryphon exceeded every expectation. I would 100% recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah and looking for a unique and elegant afternoon tea experience.

A book restaurant?! Yes, please! The decor is soooo cool!!! Lucas, our waiter, a SCAD student, was sooo friendly and helpful. We ordered the lemon scones and they were delicious!!! We also got the Smoked Salmon Club Sandwich, the Moroccan Chicken Sandwich, the Pesto Burrata Bruschetta Salad, and the Chèvre & Pear Salad. We also tried the hot chocolate, that was not at all hot, I wouldn’t even say warm. Update: We returned for breakfast. It was amazing! We ordered the Crème Brûlée French Toast, the Mexicali Avocado Toast, and the Spinach Omelette. All were sooo delicious!!! We also tried the hot chocolate again, telling them about the cold hot chocolate last time, and they fixed the problem and the temp was perfect!

Lunch at Gryphon was an absolute delight! We enjoyed a beautiful meal sitting outside across from the squares, where the gentle breeze and the sound of the church bells made everything feel perfectly Savannah. The Asian Salmon and the soup of the day were absolutely superb — fresh, flavorful, and prepared with so much care. The service was warm and attentive, and the entire experience felt effortless and elegant. Gryphon is truly one of the city’s gems, the perfect spot to slow down, savor, and enjoy a memorable lunch. We left smiling and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend! ✨🍽️

Spectacular food and the atmosphere reminded me of an old school department store. They specialize in tea and related foods such as finger sandwiches, but they also have much more to offer. I encourage you to try this place out. I had the Moroccan chicken sandwich and Orange noir cold brew. Both were excellent and very filling.

Truly unique experience in Savannah! From high tea in the morning to delicious daily soups and quiches in the afternoon, all in the gorgeous historic pharmacy now run by SCAD. Recommend showing up when it opens or on a weekday, to avoid a wait!
