Appetizers and drinks were good. Pork chop and watermelon salad were nice. Mushroom pasta was completely off. Pasta was gluey, crème fresh was broken. Under seasoned. Manager interaction was strange. She seemed confrontational but also comped our whole meal (which is not what we were asking for). Overall a weird interaction, not sure we will be back.

We visited Savannah during the memorial day weekend and decided to book this restaurant as it had great reviews. Let me start by saying that the food was excellent and we throughly enjoyed every single dish from start to finish. I also loved their wine selection and had to try a new wine that I had never tried before. The only complaint I have is that we noticed very few servers that day and infact our server turned out to be the Food and Beverage director who apparently had to fill in to assist. She was a bit stressed at the beginning and you could tell by her short responses. She seemed to relax a bit more as the night progressed and gave us great wine recommendations. I think overall the experience was great and it is definitely a restaurant that I would go back.

Stopped into The 1540 Room with my wife and daughter while in Savannah, and it ended up being one of those dinners where everyone at the table was quietly happy with their choice — always a good sign. We started with the cornbread appetizer, which disappeared fast enough that I probably should’ve ordered a second before realizing what was happening. My daughter and I both had the fresh catch, grilled and served with braised butter beans, while my wife ordered the porchetta. The porchetta honestly deserved its own photo shoot. Crispy outside, rich and tender inside, plated beautifully, and according to my wife, tasted even better than it looked. Regrettably, I once again proved I’m better at eating food than photographing it. The grilled fish was very well prepared — clean flavors, cooked correctly, and the butter beans were a surprisingly strong accompaniment that made the dish feel thoughtful rather than overly complicated. One thing that stood out was how comfortable the staff made allergy accommodations feel. Between my daughter’s gluten allergy and egg sensitivities, my wife’s gluten and dairy allergy, and my tree nut allergy, Alpha-Gal, and diabetes, we’re usually a pretty solid stress test for a kitchen. Staff handled questions professionally and confidently without making the experience awkward or high maintenance. The restaurant is inside the hotel, which honestly usually isn’t my first choice when picking a dinner spot (and the reason for the 4 star and not 5 stars), but the food made that concern disappear pretty quickly. Atmosphere leans upscale but still approachable. Good choice for a date night, celebratory dinner, or dinner with adult family members where you actually want to hear each other talk.

What a great anniversary meal. Fantastic food, great cocktails and a very good wine selection. The farm to table menu changes. We loved the cauliflower, cornbread, and Duck Dolmades. All were so good. We finished with a great desert and “adult” chocolate milk. The service was very friendly and made our evening great. A wonderful celebration.
