Loud! That is my take away. The hotel itself (lobby, location) is great. The rooms are clean, water plenty hot (love that). But as Jim D said, none of that matters if you can’t sleep. I can say with certainty, that this is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Mind you we were on a corner with a great view. But you can hear everything outside, people talking, trucks, a dog two blocks away and some very loud, drill into concrete sound at 5:45 am! ( no idea what that was). It did not help that the first night our sliding door would not close all the way . The next morning I realized, they just left masking tape on it from a painting job… from what looked like a year ago, and it was slightly off the track. Two easy fixes no one bothered to do. I never reached out to management, nothing they can do to stop noise from outside their hotel, but I would highly recommend they invest in noise canceling windows/doors. We are very happy to be moving on to a different hotel.
Feb 11, 2026 · Google ReviewMy friend and I stayed here for 3 days this past weekend. I called the week before to ask if the pool would be open. I was told it would be. The lady I spoke with said it was closed the week I had called but it would be back open the week we arrive. It unfortunately was not. They have valet parking. The hotel itself is in the perfect location. You are a 5-10 minute walk from everything. We were given a $23 voucher (each of us) to use in the hotel bar or cafe. We decided to use it in the hotel bar for food. The food was not good. I’m glad it was free! I got the mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce and the pimento cheese with crackers. The mozzarella sticks didn’t have any taste and the marina sauce was bland. The crackers were hard and the pimento cheese was pretty much shredded cheese. We were not a fan of the food at the cafe either. I had an iced vanilla latte one morning and an iced honey bee latte the next morning. They were average. I also had the Madison breakfast sandwich, it was missing something. It needed some sort of sauce or seasoning. Everything was bland. The valet area will store your luggage if you need to check out and have a while before your flight leaves. They valet staff were very friendly. The room itself was clean. The beds were very comfortable. I am very pleased with our room and beds/pillows. We didn’t have a fridge in our room. Not sure if that’s all rooms or just ours. Overall, it is a nice hotel in a great location. I would like to come back again during the summer. All of the staff were very friendly and hopeful. Our only complaints are the food quality and the pool nkt being open. Otherwise it was great!
Jan 19, 2026 · Google ReviewMy husband and I spent one night at the DeSoto and were very happy with the service! The hotel was beautiful, clean, and decorated with Christmas trees through out. The bed was comfortable and the room spotless. The check in process was easy too. We grabbed coffee at the coffee bar downstairs which was very good. The valet was very convenient and the personnel working the valet were fast and friendly! (Thank you Gary!). We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.
Dec 6, 2025 · Google ReviewThe DeSoto is fine in most areas, but the only one I’d give a positive review for is the location. Overall, it’s clean and decent - but the staff is very unhelpful. The room does not have a refrigerator but more importantly the air conditioning does not work AT ALL. It has been set to 65 for 2 days now and still reads 77 degrees. I cannot imagine staying here in the summer. It is 5pm on day 2 and our room still has not been cleaned, even after confirming with the front desk earlier today. The pool also has no water, and from the looks of other reviews it sounds like they’ve been promising that amenity would be back for over a month. Again, it’s fine - but I wouldn’t stay here again.
Mar 5, 2026 · Google ReviewThis hotel was fairly quiet which was good. The people who work there were very friendly and helpful. The in hotel breakfast / coffee area's food selection left a bit to be desired. We did not eat at the hotel's restaurant because we were honestly kinda turned off from the breakfast area and had a feeling the restaurant would be the same. As far as the rooms go, the beds were not bad, the room was not bad, but unless you had a executive suite (we did have that executive suite), the bathroom door opens straight next to the toilet and many of the people we were with had to nearly climb over the toilet to get to the shower. They also said that the towels hang just over the toilet and easily fall into the toilet if you aren't very careful. As far as location goes, no complaints. It was close to a store that was open 24/7 thank goodness because the hotel doesn't really have much of a selection of items to purchase after breakfast hours are over and the breakfast area closes down. There is a small gift shop in the hotel.... but it has no food items and was not open very often. The valet guys were very nice and were careful with our vehicle. They were happy to point us in the right direction when we were out and about. They also gave us recommendations for places to eat.
