Great bar food, and the cocktails are phenomenal. Most importantly though, the bartenders were very kind and accommodating, especially when one of ours got too intoxicated. He was so amazing when our friend was a little too intoxicated. A raise for our long haired and bearded friend!

This place is amazing. Courtney, our bartender just served 25 people from a tour in 10 minutes. After that they actually complained! she still served everyone with a smile. This place is great if you want a good time and great service ! This is a must stop for a great time in Savannah. Best service in town!

McDonough’s Bar – Savannah Revisited on a Wednesday at 6 PM, because apparently I enjoy suffering. We made it ten seconds through the front door before retreating like we’d stumbled into a Walmart on Black Friday. It was loud, it was packed, and the only thing missing was a guy in a lawn chair selling bootleg DVDs. We turned around and walked back out with our dignity mostly intact. Enter our hero: a woman out front smoking a cigarette who, bless her heart, took one look at us and decided we needed saving. She informed us that a local trucking company had commandeered the bar for a fellowship hour, which is apparently what truckers call it when they drink together on a Wednesday like it’s their job. She then personally escorted us to the other side of the bar, which might as well have been a different zip code. Quiet. Seats available. You could hear your own thoughts. It was a miracle. Once inside and no longer in danger of being absorbed by a crowd, the place was actually pretty solid. Decent draft list, full bar, comfortable atmosphere. No servers anywhere to be found, so if you can’t walk to a bar you’re going to have a bad time. Didn’t try the food. Not sure anyone goes to McDonough’s for the food. Bottom line: great local bar, potentially unusable depending on who booked the place that night. Call ahead, or just hope your cigarette fairy is outside.

Stopped by to have a quick meal before going to the Savannah Theatre. Enjoyed my potato skins, nice and crispy! My friends enjoyed their hot dog, BLT, and Black and Bleu Burger and fries. Our server was very attentive and I even had the pleasure of meeting a Red Sox fan who kept giving me updates on the game. Great spot!
