Found this place when doing some research on where to stay for our first trip to Savannah. I was pleasantly surprised! Going in, I tried not to have high expectations, but the room was lovely and the location was fantastic! Although a little far from downtown and the riverwalk (about 26-30 min walk), the ubers were cheap (about $10) and worth it for when we had reservations to make or were just so exhausted. Staff were lovely and breakfast included. It's definitely not the fanciest place like the bardo hotel down the street, but it was perfect for us and just what we were looking for! Loved the double sink and king size bed in the captains room. We would definitely stay here again. Great price compared to others closer to downtown. We honestly enjoyed the walking (get to see more that way). Right across the Forsyth park for the Saturday morning farmer's/artist market with a coffee shop down the street!

We had a wonderful stay, our room was very nice (we loved the large bathroom! Sonia was gracious and actually quite a laugh and very knowledgeable about current affairs in Savanna and stories of past times. The breakfasts were very good. We will go again.

Close to college for graduation events. Comfortable and spacious room, very accomodating to us for an early am departure, by providing coffee, tea and muffins/banana to go! The staff was so gracious and welcoming. Thank you for making our stay a most pleasant one.

My husband wanted a historic b&b to stay in with parking so that ticked that box. We stayed in Nell's room which is in the lower ground of the b&b. Unfortunately due to its location you can hear everything that is going on in the house. Our neighbours sadly on Friday night were very noisy indeed until gone midnight. Then early we heard the staff arriving to prepare breakfast so there was a lot of moving around upstairs too. So didn't make for a great nights sleep. Although the beds are comfy. The people we met were lovely and we had some nice chats at the breakfast table. Although here again they made a good effort to make breakfast nice, it is a little restricted on what you have as they decide the menu for the day. My husband is a granola and yogurt kind of person and isn't a fan of sweet potatoes or sweet muffins etc for breakfast. But if you like to be surprised then it's not bad just not our thing really. I do think (sorry) that things are being done on a budget. The welcome cake was shop bought and not suitable for those with allergies (which was advised and to be fair accommodated at breakfast) But we did feel things were a bit too controlled on the food front to the point where it felt like they were skimping. The room we had was okay (a little dark). There was a strange blue recycling bin in the bathroom (not in the photos) which seemed very out of place. The shampoo and conditioner were the tiniest I have ever seen and they only provide saap, no shower gel (which I had forgotten to bring) The towels were a little scratchy not that soft. They don't come into your room during your stay. I didn't realise this until after I had booked the room. It's fine just not what we expected when paying over $1000 for three nights. Parking is free and easy so that's a bonus and the front porch is nice to sit and have a cup of tea. I bought wine and sat and had a glass. They do provide glasses. We liked the location but it is a walk (we didn't mind that) through the park and squares. You will get your steps in. We did love Savannah and exploring. So there is a lot of offer. I would suggest staying in one of the higher up rooms which maybe have more light and less noise from the house. Or maybe we were just unfortunate to have guests who did not respect the quiet hours. Also it would be useful to know in advance the menu or have other offerings like toast, yogurt etc. Also some better welcome snacks would be a nice addition after a long journey or even a glass of something nice and cold. Final thing to note there is no one from the b&b around after 5 pm. The website originally said this was run by 4 ladies. When I asked about this they said the website was out of date by 2 years. I see now after I made this comment it has been updated. The thing is you don't really know who you are talking to and who is the manager etc. It's a different concept and people seemed to like it. Maybe takes a little more getting used to. Gave it 3 stars due to the noise, dark room and not so special breakfasts/snacks. As I say seems a lot of people like this concept.

Being on the corner of Forsyth Park makes this location perfect. So easy to walk most places. We did uber to the river as it was 1.3 miles. Breakfasts were amazing. Our room was very large, bed super comfortable. Highly recommend Catherine Ward House!
