I was excited to try this place but I’m sad to say, I was a bit disappointed. First we were seated inside as requested. It was hot and I was expecting air conditioning, nope just big old loud fans. Probably would have been cooler outside on the patio. Once seated, it took a good 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by our waitress. We debated leaving. We ordered oysters steamed and they arrived but with nothing to shuck them open with. We had to wait and finally got our waitress and got some shucking knives. Just then our food arrived. We really wanted to enjoy the oysters before we had our seafood boil. Now we had LOTS of hot food going cold. So much for a relaxing seafood dinner. We shared a boil for 1 and the snow crab was great, the muscles were outstanding, the crawfish small but good, the sausage delicious, and the shrimp good but not great. We also had the crab soup. Nope not again! It had quite a bit of crab but the flavor was nothing like others I’ve had. I’m wondering if it is made with canned milk? We also added clams and they were awful! Super small and FULL of sand! I make steamer clams and all you have to do is soak them in water to purge the sand out. These were so bad I couldn’t eat them all. Our waitress did talk with the manager about the oysters and timing of our food and he adjusting our bill, but still a disappointing meal for the price. Definitely a tourist place!
Jul 15, 2026 · Google ReviewWe've have seafood up and down the coast but this has to be the best experience and some of the most awesome we have had. Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked and delicious. Our daughter has shellfish allergies and they helped us understand what was safe on the menu 100% recommend. Probably going back tomorrow.
Jul 8, 2026 · Google ReviewVisiting here from Atlanta while we were on Tybee beach and now I have the perfect place to visit when I come back to Tybee. Our server Emily was great, quick, cool, professional and friendly. Our table ordered the low country boil, peel and eat shrimp, steamed oysters, deviled crab, Dungeness crab and frozen margaritas. Our food came quick, fast and was delicious. The gift shop is cool, the place is huge and eclectic. Seeing the baby gators and Koi pond was cool too. Parking is a gravel lot and when busy could be difficult to find. I’ll be back though!
Jun 13, 2026 · Google ReviewA must see in tybee island. Kids has a great time seeing the alligators and feeding them. Very fun place in a beautiful setting. Food was good but nothing too special. They have both indoor (but exposed to outside) and outdoor seating options, Service was just okay. Bathrooms were gross. They had other handwashing stations though which made things a little easier for those of us eating crab. But 5 stars for the uniqueness, fun, and setting!
May 12, 2026 · Google ReviewThe Crab Shack in Tybee Island is the best one to me and my family. Sometimes we just ride 2 hours just to get some food. The food is delicious; the vibe is so nice; the service is good. The only thing I didn't like about the last time we visited was the waiter put in a 30% tip but I caught it and put 20% which was least. I tip 10% but there was no way for me to customize it. I will bring cash next time.
