The lighthouse is very well presented and kept in great shape! It's a steep walk to the top but the view is great. There's places to rest on your way up and down the steps. The Keepers' buildings are displayed nicely. Don't miss the 'bunker' building down the street.
May 29, 2026 · Google ReviewGreat Climb if you enjoy Lighthouses. The tickets include several historical buildings onsite and a museum across the road. Also offers a Teacher Discount! Other discounts for military and veterans are also available. I climbed with 2 boys, 7&9, who can be a little rambunctious. The historian did an amazing job using a long cardboard tube to explain the importance of being quiet and it worked! Never heard my kids do such a great job whispering the whole way up. Once up there were amazing views and a terrific breeze. We went in the morning which I recommend especially in the summer heat.
Jul 11, 2026 · Google ReviewA very cool lighthouse, with underwhelming museums attached. The lighthouse is very historic, with construction reaching back to the 1700s. I didn't feel like climbing all the way to the top, so I can't comment on that. The photo plaques were interesting and informative. Across the street, diagonally, is a museum in one of the old concrete gun batteries. It's not a big, or thorough museum, and you will probably get sick of one repeated phrase. The lighthouse and battery museum together are worth the money and time, though I'm pretty sure I won't visit again. Worth a visit.
May 7, 2026 · Google ReviewIt was a fun experience with beautiful views. However, they don’t allow you to bring any bags and provide free lockers instead. We had to leave our bags in the lockers, including our diaper bag for our two-year-old, but when we reached the top of the lighthouse, we noticed that an entire group had gigantic backpacks on. That seemed suspicious.
Apr 18, 2026 · Google ReviewNo backpacks allowed. There was not a gift shop. Good access around outside the tower and keeper houses to take pictures. Have to pay admission to get close to the structures. If there was a gift shop in one of the structures that we did not notice, then you must pay a fee to shop there as it was inside the admittance area. Enjoy!
